Omaha, NE, February 28, 2023 – ProData Computer Services, Inc. announces  a new release of Remote Database Connect (RDB Connect) v 5.0. RDB Connect offers developers full SQL access to remote databases from an RPG, COBOL or CL program on the IBM i. The newest release features a menu-driven interface, improved functionality and seamless error handling. RDB Connect 5.0 is available on the ProData website and can be downloaded and used for 30 days at no charge.

RDB Connect 5.0 allows users to access cross-platform, real-time data on remote systems using APIs to execute any SQL query. The software supports access to MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Postgre, DB2 database and others. RDB Connect 5.0 communicates directly with these remote databases from all high-level languages on the IBM i. This allows record level I/O as well as the the import/export of remote data, to and from the IBM i, and can be used in batch or interactive programs.

We added new API’s to this release and we continue to add new API’s to be compatible with new SQL Field Types along with new JDBC drivers for the latest Database releases.
